Barbara Singer is de facto one of  America's greatest portraits photographers. A magnificent humanistic photographer with inner visions and pragmatic esthetics. A poetess, a writer, a thinker, a visionary and a torch of human virtues. Perhaps, just perhaps, she is New York's best portraits artist-photographer. And Barbara the philosopher photographer has a mission  in her photography and she explained it to us "While I have many different kinds of images--different subjects, techniques, colors, moods--I hope that in each image viewers feel the presence of a principle I continually explore. It was formulated years ago by the poet and philosopher, Eli Siegel: "The world, art, and self explain each other: each is the aesthetic oneness of opposites." This principle makes the world more acceptable to her. Barbara Singer adds: "...And I want to share my feeling, knowledge and experience with everyone." Barbara is a New York based photographer. She specialized in portraiture. Among her clients are:  Adams Business Media, Pfizer Inc, Women's Business Enterprise National Council, and Deutsche Bank of Germany. She showed her magnificent photography work at more than 25 exhibitions since 1985, including the John Stevenson Gallery, AIPAD, The Severoceske Museum, Central Park Wildlife Gallery. Fourteen of her portraits were published in How Success Happens, A Salute to the Women-Owned Business Stars of 2003, by WBENC and SBC Communications. Editor and publisher of The Impossible Landscapes of Nat Herz and Kurt Seligmann, 1999. Ongoing photographic and literary publication since 1983 in Shots, Fotophile, etc.

PORTRAITS

This superb master-photographer is a national gem. She had made her mark on world photography and has been highly acclaimed. Among the numerous awards she received are:  Finalist, Pietra di Luna Gallery and Print Studio, "National Photo Competition," 1999, 2000 PWP 25th Anniversary Acknowledgment of Service Award, 2000 Fiscal sponsorship by the New York Foundation for the Arts for two projects, 1999 The Beaux Arts Society, Inc., "1994 Award for Photography," 1994 Finalist in "Photographer's Forum Tenth Annual Spring Photography Contest," 1990. Quite impressive! Barbara Singer is more than a photographer. She understands the human psychology, the esthetics in physiology and more particularly the inner cosmos of the human being. And this inner understanding and wisdom are evident in her work. This woman makes you look good. This is what she had to say about that "I look for the best in you to show with beauty and power." You got to trust, respect and love this woman who has so many virtues, qualities, goodness and talents. Cooper Lawrence, from  Scenetrack.com magazine wrote: "There's a common theme among New York galleries and museums....it's a buzz, and it's about photographer Barbara Singer."
