STARS AND LEGENDS:

RAQUEL BITTON

Dancing with Leslie Caron? French and American artists are one family. No matter, how different are they views and opinions about world’s politics and affairs, once they write poetry, once they begin to sing, the whole world with its deepest valleys and highest mountains joins them and lovingly binds them together, for they are so truthful, loving and caring in their songs and music, and so much alike.  And this unity and spiritual bond bloomed and elevated the souls of Americans and French, centuries ago, when George Washington and  Marquis de Lafayette, drank together, share their bread and sang together while joining their forces and side by side fighting the English troops for the honor and freedom of America. French singers became famous and successful because they sang American songs. “Blowin in the Wind” launched the career of Richard Anthony. The greatest hits of Jean-Claude Francois, Johnny Hallyday and so many other French superstars were originally American songs!  The French Cabaret music and songs would have disappeared from the face of the earth and completely vanished from the scene of world music, if American Cabaret and torch singers did not sing and promote the songs of Paris. American artists today, are the flame and torch of French Cabaret music. And Raquel Bitton is taking the lead!

While the cabaret repertoire was dying in France, American Cabaret singers came to its rescue and injected in its veins and agonizing soul the elixir of life; they revived it in America! France is thankful to Andrea Marcovicci, Amanda McBroom, Nina Simone, Anna Bergman and Cindy Benson. And now, we thank the providence for giving us Raquel Bitton who is carrying the torch of France’s music around the world, for reviving the soul, the art, the songs and music of Edith Piaf. Although, she has become an American citizen and metamorphosed into an international American star, Bitton remains the only authentic singer in the world who illustrates, protects, preserves, promotes and immortalizes the great music of Edith Piaf with utmost fidelity and innovatively creative personal style. She sealed and embellished the music of the land of Victor Hugo, Lamartine, Emile Zola and Edith Piaf with her own cache and artistic aroma. Raquel Bitton is an international treasure, a gift to world music, a divine blessing. Raquel Bitton is America singing out the heart, the tears, the joy and the enchanting madness of Paris.

Only through music, songs and arts, nations unite and hearts rejoice. Only through music, and the voice of singers and artists, nations of the world can communicate with each other. Only through the beauty, the passion and the warmth of voices of truthful, talented and caring artists and singers, the world will shine brighter, the hills will be covered with lights, our children will grow safer and happier and our homes will be blessed.
