Spears marries in secret ceremony
LOS ANGELES (AP) -Pop singer Britney Spears has married her fiancé, dancer Kevin Federline, in a surprise ceremony, Entertainment Tonight reported Sunday on its website. The wedding was held Saturday evening at a private home in the Studio City area with 20 to 30 people attending, Entertainment Tonight said. Nicole King, a spokeswoman for BWR Public Relations, which represents Spears, did not immediately return a message seeking comment. Spears, 22, and Federline, 26, announced their engagement in June after dating since early this year. If true, it would be the second marriage in nine months for Spears. In January, she married childhood friend Jason Alexander in a surprise wedding in Las Vegas. That marriage was annulled 55 hours later. Spears' record label, Jive, released a statement saying that Spears and Alexander took a joke too far. The bride wore a baseball cap and torn jeans down the aisle and was escorted by a casino limousine driver. Federline appeared in the movie You Got Served and performed as a backup dancer for singer Justin Timberlake, Spears' former boyfriend. He was previously involved with actress Shar Jackson of TV's Moesha. They have two children - a two-year-old and a newborn. Photo, left: Britney Spears at the Cannes film festival in January 2004.

Jerusalem
(CP)-Pop diva Madonna made a midnight pilgrimage to a Jerusalem cemetery early
Sunday, holding a mystical candlelit ceremony at the grave of a Jewish sage.
The singer is in Israel on a five-day spiritual quest along with 2,000 other
students of Kabbalah, or Jewish mysticism. Following her graveside visit,
Madonna went to the Western Wall, a part of Judaism's holiest site where the
biblical temples once stood. The arrival of Israel's biggest celebrity visitor
in years has created a frenzy among her fans and the news media. Others have
been critical of the star's interest in the esoteric Jewish mysticism. Madonna
was raised a Roman Catholic but she has become an avid devotee of Jewish
mysticism in recent years. She has adopted the Hebrew name Esther, wears a red
thread on her wrist to ward off the evil eye and is reported refusing to
perform on the Jewish Sabbath. No screaming fans were waiting for Madonna on
Sunday as she arrived with her husband, Guy Ritchie, at the Kiryat Shaul
cemetery, flanked by black-clad police escorts, assault rifles slung over
their shoulders.
