SOPHIA DALLE______________

It is not an easy task to write about Sophia Dalle, nor to engage into a dialogue with this macabre and translucent Diva in the making. She lives in a world we are familiar with, and in a cosmos where only most daring thoughts, phantasmagoric visions and idealism blend and fade in. She is idealistic, a spiritual chic and abundant with multidimensional musical talent. She interrupts you all the time, she rushes to freeze and free words of wisdom, you wish you could totally understand, and she challenges your intellect, even though, she disdains ivy league cum laude graduates who analyzes everything in life. She is a sensational opera singer in the making. In the making? That's right, because she is still waiting for her big break. Also, she is an actress of the macabre, the drama, the dark world and the fading shadows of lights in your sensuality, confused mind and fragile soul. This Dalle is powerful. She troubles me, she irritates me, and she delights me with her captivating chaos everywhere she lives and dares to challenge...
Sophia
Dalle studied Opera in Italy and New York and graduated from the Strasberg
Theater School. She performed in Uncle Vanya and took the lead in various
cabaret shows in New York City. But, she is still waiting to see her name in
light on a big board. She will, for her talent is unsurpassed and her
persona is overwhelmingly dramatic and Felliniesc. Finally, she
got a Hollywood manager, after her portrayal of Medea, and signed with
Athena Talent in Beverly Hills. The London's Monthly Herald called her "The
Divine Diva of the Underground"! Dalle writes Arias for those who dare to
traverse the risqué and the hidden. This is what Sophia Dalle wrote:
When your love for me becomes your salvation, It is then your lips will drink from mine. Against the heavens starry night sky, My taste will be your sacred nectar Without which you will die.
And as you enter your twilight years and your hair greys, As your skin thins and your manhood shrivels and dries, My love will be your succor and strength to go on, When all others have abandoned you with their lies...
Currently, she is working with Maestro Steven Cornine on her first CD "My Beloved" which is a bouquet of operatic songs, ballads from early German and Parisian cabaret acts performed by the legendary Edith Piaf and Dietrich. I had the opportunity to listen to her favorites such as "Mon Dieu", "Mon Homme" and an aria from "Samson and Delilah" and I went crazy. What a powerful and sinfully rich voice, this Sophia Dalle has! And, she sings without a mic. Her voice can fill New York's largest theater effortlessly with grace, sensuality and brings you to tears. Expect to hear a big buzz about Dalle, The Diva of the Jazzy-Operatic Macabre...
