SUCCESSFUL NEW YORK WOMEN

JUDY LEDERMAN: THE WIZARD AND PR DIVA OF NEW YORK

From packaged goods companies to well known dot-com companies, Lederman's clients have ended up on television, radio, and in newspapers, and magazines. Lederman has brought fame to both consumer and high-tech companies that include many recognizable names. Judy loves to campaign and explain things. Also she loves to conquer and win. She could be tough but, deep down, she is loving and funny. Judy was born PR wizard. And campaigning is her middle name. Listen to her talking about strategies, campaigns and what you might need to succeed in your business " I'd like to share with you one of my recent and most victorious communications efforts. There is nothing more satisfying than communications campaigns that spawn immediate and successful results. When Girl Scouts USA refused to let Jewish Girl Scouts march in the Salute to Israel parade (May 5, 2002), I went to work. Besides being a Girl Scout leader, I am a communications expert, and I knew how to use my PR skills to effect change. I proceeded to contact my media connections. I highlighted the struggles of a Senior Jewish Girl Scout, Erica Belkin, as a spokesperson. When contacted, civic groups graciously signed on. I broke the story in The Jewish Week and The New York Post, followed by a column by New York Times Metro Columnist Clyde Haberman. Broadcastmedia, Curtis & Kuby and WCBS-AM were my next media targets. When Curtis Sliwa gave out the phone number of Girl Scout USA headquarters, hundreds of calls poured in protesting the decision." Judy continues, listen to this: "Associated Press and television venues were informed and ready to take the story national, fortunately, I was able to call off the ground troops. Girl Scouts USA, in response to the public pressure, capitulated, announcing that the Jewish Girl Scouts could march in the parade. The sweet sounds of little marching feet, and the voices of young Girl Scouts singing the Hatikvah signified success, as did a front page photo in The Journal News. " That is the Judy Lederman, we are talking about. " Now, what do we call this? Aggressive attitude? Self-confidence? "Tough-Cookie "style? Brains? Obnoxious woman? A "Go-Getter"? Yep! Everything, but obnoxious. Simply, because, this amazing woman gets things done and, more importantly SHE FIGHTS FOR YOU, and boy! do I like that!?

WHAT ELSE, CAN SHE DO, BESIDES MAKING YOU LOOK GOOD?

No matter how smart we are, sometimes, or soon or later, we will be forced to deal with tough issues. We need to anchor ourselves. We need to recollect our thoughts. We are in hot water, problems are mounting, we are in trouble, we are in a crisis. And we need help, to sort out things and overcome the situation. So what do we usually do? Go to a bloody shrink, so he or she could screw up what's left in our brains? Or, perhaps a CP to balance our budget? Or a friend to lean on? Or maybe to a PR expert, if things are not going well, and business results are miserable? Right decision. We go to see a savvy and bright PR or marketing wizard to help us launch our business and advise us on what to do and what to avoid, so mistakes are not chronically repeated. Do you have any PR wizard in mind? Don't go far, Judy is here! For she is a problem solver-expert. She has  been frequently called in by top PR firms to  manage crisis, control damage, strategize media relation projects, and yes, to write newsletters and other corporate communications materials. She has done it all, with grace, strength, effectiveness and a big smile.  Judy, a writer? You bet your gazebo! She wrote for The New York Times, Home Office Computing, McCall's, Parents Magazine, Lifestyles, NY Post, The NY Journal News and Jewish Week. Her credits and list of awards are endless, here are some: #1. Paul Ronder Memorial Film Award, Brooklyn College, 1983. #2. Advertising Club of Westchester, Big W Gold Award, 1993,1992. #3. .Women In Communications Inc. Clarion Award - Best PR Campaign1993. #4. Women In Communications Inc.
